In the spirit of our founding mission, Tabaka Mission Hospital recently conducted a multi-day free community health outreach programme across several villages in Kisii County. Our teams of doctors, nurses, and community health workers set up field clinics offering free services including blood pressure checks, malaria testing, maternal and child health consultations, and routine immunizations.
Over 400 community members were reached during the programme, with dozens referred for follow-up care at the hospital. Particular emphasis was placed on maternal health awareness, nutrition, and the prevention of communicable diseases.
“Healthcare must go where the people are,” said one of our senior nurses. “We carry the hospital to those who cannot always come to us.”
TMH plans to continue such outreach drives on a quarterly basis. We thank all staff volunteers and community health volunteers who gave their time to make this event a success.
